Thanksgiving break is over...

I had a fun filled week that's for sure. I went to my first NBA basketball game with my Uncle Monday night and played lots with my cousins. It was lots of fun. The wife and I went to the lights at temple square for the first time this year. It was really nice. The week went by in a hurry and I have only two more weeks until Christmas break. Which means we'll been in Scotland that much sooner. I don't know why we have that week long break and then two weeks till the semester is over, I wish they would just let us out a week earlier in December. Oh well. I think I need another vacation...

Utterly Sick...

Today the wife an I woke up about a quater after five, we've been sick all day. We were blessed to be visited be two of the members of our ward. They were of great help to us. I really dislike whatever bug we got, not fun at all. Just a general malais we vomiting. I just pray my wife can get a good-night's rest so hopefully she'll be feeling better tomorrow. I'd give up my own health for her if I could.

Today also killed a running streak I was quite proud of. I hate vomiting, I mean I REALLY HATE it. Not that I think anyone out there likes vomiting. The last time I threw up was 13 years ago or so. Well maybe I can go another 13 years. Here's hoping to that...

Back at School

So I totally suck at this blog stuff. Oh well. Here is another far and in between post. School has started again and I'm looking forward to the semester. I'm really excited about my Human anatomy class. I had wanted to take Gross Anatomy, you get to work on cadavers all day, but I wasn't going to be able to fit it into my schedule before I graduate. I lucked out cause they just changed how they run the human anatomy lab I'm in. We get to dissect cadavers! I don't know why I am so excited, it's actually quite morbid when one stops to think about it, but what better way to learn the human anatomy than hands on experience. I also get to do some really neat lab stuff with my entomology class. Can you say nerd? I just can't help myself. I get to play with creepy crawlies, rather I get to post them onto a bit of board with pins and glue. Then there is physics and the oh-so-controversial subject of evolution. I wonder if Darwin knew what the reaction was going to be when he came up with that theory?

I'll graduate this April if everything goes well. I'll graduate and still have no clue what I want to do with the rest of my life. Can somebody please tell me what it is I want to do? Make sure I can make lots of money with little effort when you tell me what it is I'll be doing. I was working on being a dentist but I took the practise DAT and didn't score too well, of course this was before studying so I would have something to gauge improvement by. Hopefully studying fixes that or I'll be in some serious tizzy...

Can you pick out the fakes?

I've been having a little bit of fun with photoshop. My sister ends up being the victim of most of that fun. I feel like a photoshop ad but I was really suprised at how easy it was to do all of this.

Blackened Chicken Alfredo

So my wife has been asking me to put this on my blog and here it finally is.

Ingredients:
chicken breasts

1 cup diced red pepper
1 cup chopped scallions
1 cup button mushrooms (sliced)
2 Tbsps. olive oil

butter
salt & pepper
Cajun spices to coat chicken

Pasta sauce
pasta.

So all you have to do is cut the chicken up (I do one breast per person) and throw it in a ziplock bag with the cajun spices to coat the chicken. If you want more of a coating add more spices. I also like to use shrimp in place of the chicken.

Heat up a pan at about med-high and add about 4 tbls of butter to the pan. You may need to add more depending on how much chicken you are cooking. After the chicken cooked set it aside and keep it warm. Now it's time to cook the mushrooms. in a pan at medium heat add the olive oil, mushrooms and scallions. Just sautee the mushrooms and salt and pepper to taste. I use an alfredo sause out of a jar, rago works well. While cooking everything else I have my pasta boiling. After the pasta is done and the sauce has been heated serve and enjoy.

Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! It has been an absolute fantastic day. We woke up around 7:30 this morning and we mostly watched my Cousins open up all their presents. They had quite the amount of loot to open. Laura and I had quite a few gifts exchanged between us as well. I think my favorite gift came from Laura, the First two seasons of "The Office". A close second, if not tied with, is a gift from my mom "Fire Emblem" for the Wii. I liked all the gifts I received they were all well thought out and I really enjoyed them. I even enjoyed all the clothing I received which is a rarity. I'm not much of a clothes person and if I'm getting it as a gift for Christmas it had better e something good and they all were.

Laura's favorite gift was from me. I got her a new digital camera. It was really nice and she loved it lots. She was so excited about it. I'm really glad she liked it.

We spent time playing together and eating. My aunt made a fantastic meal. Really yummy side dished and stuff. Mmm...

Now Christmas night has come and I am truly sleepy. It has been a wonderful day and very tiring. I was Santa's helper in building up some of the gifts that needed putting together last night. It was lots of fun. I can't wait for next year... Pictures to come later...

Christmas and such...

Well it has been a long while since I've had the time to properly get on here and place a post.  The nerf war did happen and we did have some video footage and then there was video footage malfunction so I never did get to posting anything about the war.  It was fun and for the first time I have been around playing it, someone was bleeding.  Not a lot but enough to say blood was shed during one of our wars.  It was actually quite humorous.  Another war is being planned soon to be held out in the snow.  It should be fun.

For the Christmas holidays we were invited down to visit with my Aunt and Uncle who live down in Utah.  We are having lots of fun.  I enjoy hanging out with their family.  My aunt and Uncle are really easy going.  My uncle is a Mac user and my Dad is a Windows users so for years the two of them have been having a computer showdown.  I inherited it from my father because of my preference for computer type.  The stand off is over really.  Mac now has the ability to run Windows OS and vice versa.  So really there is no Mac/Windows division on the computer anymore.  So ends the computer standoff between my Dad and his brother.  Unless windows does something different it really is a moot point.  Though I'm sure it s a point that will still be brought up again and again.

I'll have to get a picture of the Christmas Tree before all the presents are gone.  The gifts are bulging out from under it.  My aunt likes having the gifts in a particular way under, or in this case around, the tree.  At first when she told me I thought she was joking, but when I brought in the gifts my wife and I had my aunt rearranged the gifts as she added in ours.  I thought it was humorous because a couple of weeks ago I had to rearrange the presents under our tree back in Rexburg because  it was getting too messy.  I would say it was a genetic thing but she married into the family, which means she's probably the only normal one along with my wife.  My mom also married into the family but I'm pretty sure that is where I picked up some of my stranger habits.  I love you mom.

I just looked outside and it still looks like it is the middle of the night, it's 7am.  I miss the sun at this hour.  Well I have to go practice my gaming skills as I'll end up going head to head with my uncle.  He got C&C 3  and he started reading all the interesting things he can do with his armies.  He always beats me at these games anyway and I'm a little worried he may crush me again.   Thought I might have had a chance but who knows now...
